Visit Scotland’s hidden west coast
Come with us to see the rugged Atlantic Coast of Scotland. Learn about the history of crafting, the traditional smallholding agricultural system in the Scottish Highlands or take a trip out to sea to look out for dolphins, seals or may be take in some deep sea fishing. You can visit Wester Ross as part of a North Coast 500 tour or you can lose yourself for a week in the hills and glens, some of which have remained the same for centuries. Visit hidden villages like Applecross and hear how the local population was cleared in the 19th century in favour of sheep and by getting there, try your driving skills on the legendary Bealach na Ba, the Pass of the Cattle. Drop in to Ullapool, home to the Vikings centuries ago but now a bustling sea port and be sure to get your fish and chips here. And one more thing – you don’t have to go to the tropics to visit a rainforest as there’s one right here in Wester Ross.
